Thanks! We'll try to expand it in the near future so that it's even more precise!
Seems like quite a project! As stated, very neat filter system.
It will be very good for people who don't know what foleys are. Probably the kind who spend money on $1 apps anyway, so win-win!
Cool dude! Congrats and good luck! Sad to see some Road of the Dead tracks there lol
Very nice sentiment! I'm worried about your execution as a business though, this is the usual story with NGers.
I can't read the text around your logo, it's too fine and small. Also your ad at the top is just horrendous, on all fronts. The stock Jpegs and very default, outlined text really makes it feel like a spam ad I should be avoiding. This RPG stuff is a cute idea, but it really obscures what you're selling- and you're selling to producers on the development side, not the consumer side, so dressing it up as something fun actually makes it seem LESS appealing and legitimate. I'm not looking for candyfloss in this context, this is my company and my projects are important to me.
Search criteria is a big focus for this service, so that should be at the top, not down by the side. It was a couple minutes into my experience of using the website that I noticed it. If you roll down the Categories on 1001fonts.com, I think you should be considering something more like that.
I can see that there are a lot of things to buy right up front on this website, and the goal of covering your costs is a fair idea, I understand why you'd do that. This isn't how you launch a premium service in 2014, though, and I'm sorry if this feels like I'm being too critical. Without a big existing userbase or portfolio, you don't have enough trust to legitimize why people should start buying things from you or sign up to your service. It's common that entrepreneurs starting a company just do not profit from it for the first year or so while they build momentum.
I think a good strategy for this as a business would be to pitch yourself as a way to strengthen an existing, relevant service instead of competing with them from scratch. Soundsnap is what I use for sound effects a lot, but you could more realistically use NG's userbase of amateur developers and audio composers. NG is still selling newgrounds.com/supporter with basically no features, and giving members the opportunity to SELL their music and sound effects (and artwork?) is way overdue. Kenney's giving out his resources for free from his userpage, and here you are promoting your own stuff too. Why spend years trying to drag people down the road when you could spend that money on a good engineer and set up shop here? But hey I'm no expert, best of luck with everything!
Nice! This are awesome news! It sound to me like a great idea. I'll definetly check it out and probably try to sign in :)... I wish you all the success though, regardless of my participation.

The only issue I have are the sound effect prices, I could literally record more than half of these on my own within the next 20 minutes. And honestly I'd give them away for next to free.

True that, but isn't next to free at least $1? Also, there are sound effects you can't price for more than $1, simply because as you already said, that they are done in just a few minutes. However, we WILL price high quality sound effects higher than usual.
We're just offering a service here that you can sign up for if you like it or simply not if you don't. :)
