Bout time!

You made something new man, even that short. Like the sound of your guitar, pretty sweet but...what's that background shizzl? You breathing? XD

Anyways, still a 5 from me. :)

speedmetalmessiah responds:

Hahaha, yeah. It's a combination of me breathing and the sound of the stool I was sitting on squeaking. Damn condenser mic really picks up everything. I need to start sitting on something padded that doesn't squeak.

Gentle and funny!

I can see where this is going and it's surely in the style of the original dad'n me songs. Though, it's nothing too original when it comes down the contest. It lacks a little bit of own ideas. It's just a bit too much of that style. The story behind it though is very well written and surely would fit perfect in a well made flash movie.

The soundquality on this is very good. Everything sound clean and gentle! (at least on my ears) It's sure is catchy tune as well but a bit too long for my personal taste. The time changes are a good touch but I have to agree on several other reviews that not much is going on in this song.

Baah, anyways, all in all I still enjoyed it and will give my 5/5.

A good contender! Best of luck for the contest!

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks, man! Yeah, this song has "cliche" written all over it. I played through the game a couple of times before I started writing this. The theme pretty much stays the same way all the way through, but I reached my target of successful time changes and a key change, and the variations on the theme was something I haven't done too much of in the past, so, even if I don't win anything in the comp, it was a big learning curve. Thanks for the review and the 5, much appreciated.
We've ended up with a good variation for the Dad 'n Me part of the competition. A piano solo, some drum 'n bass and some death metal. I guess those big purple thugs mean something different to all of us. I wouldn't be surprised if you won the section, with your weekly 5, and your deadset metal ways, lol. Cheers, darkside.

wow!

Really impressed there of the outcome. You quite considered some things well from the last time. The hole build up was great and the harmony of every instrument fitted well. The hole stereofield was nicely filled! What else to say? Worthy a 5 indeed.

Good stuff man!

pitbulljones responds:

yea i kinda left the mix more soft on this track, it's not hard at all, though i think it needs some mastering, the level sits well in the speakers. glad ive impressed you enough, i mean it isn't to your tastes and all. Thank for the kind words and i shall be on to your review shortly

Peacefull and relaxing!

My good man, this is full of awesomeness! Very great melody and flow throughout the hole song. Everything holds together strong. The classic guitar strumming matches perfectly with the fluet. Great to listen to and the song loops nearly perfect.

I could easily imagen this in an RPG game. The protagonist goes through an hedgerow labyrinth, searching for the exit. He's in no hurry though because his journey isn't over yet. While he's searching, he thinks about the past and the people he met and eventually...lost...

All in all, a wonderful piece there Maestro and deserves no less than a 10/10 + 5/5. I see this going somewhere! ;)

Anyways, goog going homes!

MaestroRage responds:

It would actually loop perfectly if I had stuck to the Lady's guidelines XD. But due to heavy reverb usage it sounded cut at the end. If only I could find a way to handle my reverb properly... perhaps if I dim the reverb down as it goes along? Who knows, time to fiddle and poke at things I guess.

And you're interpretation is very accurate to the feeling I too felt and went for while working on it. No hurry, just moving along with the day, observing everything.

we're glad you liked it DorKside :D! Thank you my old friend for teh review!

interesting!

and well put together. Sounds good on my ears at least. Quite some different elements in there. Acoustical/Metal/Game stuff, can't really put in a box. A very interesting mix of different styles. Like it a lot though. Some nice melodies in there as well.

Overall, quite a fine piece a got there! 575! ;D

CyriltheWolf responds:

Thanks. I don't like boxes, they suck a lot. Unless you make a metal song with Boxes? Well, this theme is like me. So yeah. :D

Yoshi's Island anyone?

Lmao, this tune so much reminds me of it. Some cave stage or something. That one synth pattern reminds of it soo damn much. Anyways, this is a very relaxing tune, though...I have to agree with some of Bezman's pointers. Mainly the drums are too "far" away in my opinion. Of course, it's always a matter of taste there but it really is something that personally bugs me in this tune. Other than that you've managed to create a sad, yet relaxing mood in this piece.

I really like the outcome of this, so I tap my 5 on it none the less, even the fact that you will phail epicly...like always. ;)

Lator, ya looser!

Sweet beans!

Boom Booom goes the kick to this very "dancy" fancy Mega Man "original". I write original because it's something not everyone can. Just listen to the vocals. Writing a good story to this is hard and you guys certainly made it! Nice one indeed! :D

Like the bass and drums...only complaint are...you guessed right...the guitars again. I miss a little bit mids there or maybe it's just the playing? It's not bad or anything, maybe it's just a little weird in this? I don't know. The overall mix I have to say is VERY kick ass! Nice track yet again!

Funquestion...What would you play if I wouldn't move when facing Metal Man? You know, don't ya? ;D

Anyways, easy 5 from me! :)

Cool! \m/

Reminds me a little bit of Metallica for some reason...probably because of the fusion of clean guitar sound and those heavy leads. Enough of that. Short but awesome track. Very nice on the ears. I could even imagen this beeing a full tune. Melodical thrash lolol! ;D

Anyways, nice one fuckur!

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Hey man!
Fairly similar to fade to black. I guess a lot of my stuff sounds similar to Metallica. I am heavily influenced by their early stuff. From before the black album mostly.
Anyways, glad to see you about. I can only imagine, what you been up to, from last we spoke. Or somethings. . Anyways man. Thanks for lending your ears and leaving your brains. haha.

Oh ten noez! :D

Thuesdays suck shit for submitting shit! Haha. Love this one man. Short and energetic. Nice tone as well man! I hear no clips in this one! OMG! D:

Anyways, keep those Tuesday bastards comming! ;D

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

No clips, thanks to the pod 2.0. YAY...but even BETTER news. I traded in the 2.0 already...and ordered a pod x3. :P Should be here by Friday. I'm pretty stoked!

Fucking line 6, rules with the pods. haha. I quite like that it has vocal settings too . I'm looking forward to messing with those.

Anyways outburst ftw!!

Thanks fuckur!~

Nice jam!

Hey, new tones doesn't sound bad at all. Hope you work with them. Just a bit more eq'ing and a tad more compression on the guitars and things should work out fine for ya! :D

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Holy, how did I miss a review from the DarKsidE555? Thats crazy bro. Sorry for the late response.
Thanks for the review.. .Tone has been rectified. :D
