Oah...nice one! :D

Now that was really cool. It really sounds like something that could be in DBZ. Very sneaky/aggressive. Like the mix here as well. Everything is audible. Good bass tone and cool drums! <3

The scratches could be a bit more present in the mix though but other than that, nice job!

Wolfguard responds:

thank you mate ^_^

Nice! :)

First off, I have to adress something to Etherealistic. People like you don't have a single idea what "heavy metal" means. If it's not sounding "heavy metal", it doesn't belong into "heavy metal". Great argument. Of course you can't give an explanation "why", because...in all honesty, you wouldn't know what to say. So I tell you this, next time you try to be smart, get some informations first and think twice before you want to comment on a song.

It does very much belong into "heavy metal".

Anyways, on to the song. For a synth based track, this is pretty nice. The synth guitars do sound pretty ok here, though you still can detect the "unrealness". The riff however is very catch and delivers a good mood. It kind of reminds me of an RPG type game, when there is a funny situation. It's cool and groovie. ;)

Drums are pretty weak here, sadly...but they do their job. Overall I say nice little track with a couple of flaws. 4/5. :)

Hades responds:

Yup, detecting the 'unrealness' with these instruments is possible from any point closer than the Moon, but sadly, I don't really have the green papers to buy myself Guitar Rig or any of those lovely programs. The drums are facing the same issue, as EZDrummer (mysteriously) also costs money. But I'm hoping to solve at least one of those problems in the near future, so we'll see how that turns out...

As for the comments on the song itself, yeah, I did find the riff really catchy- when I first played it, I was going over and over like an idiot for about twenty minutes. ;D I didn't really consider it as a possible track for an RPG, but now that you've mentioned it, it does kinda sound like some more funny-oriented themes used in videogames.

As always, dude, thanks a lot for the review, any criticism is always welcome.

Good stuff!

I'd say viking folk metal because I feel like in a mood for drinkin right now. Na, it's still prog. black metalz! ;)

I liked it, nice structure and good constant vox. Now I do have a couple of pointers for you. I think you can blame the quality on your recording equipment. At least that's what I think. Let's start with the main thing...drums. They are very, very weak in the song. The kick is audible but is has no power to support a track of that caliber. There is no beef behind it. The snare is hard to detect as well. Just like the rest of the crashes, symbols, etc.

It's not only the mixing, I think equalizing the drums would be an option here too. As soon as the track starts, the bass kinda says good bye! I do like that tone very much but it doesn't shine through the hole song.

As for the guitars...They are very thin/clean and sound to compressed/isolated. Missing some mid highs there. >:U

Vocals and Piano are the things that really don't need any adjustments. As said before, I think you can blame the quality on your recording equipment. I would take this track and re-mix it again. There's still a good portion of potential in there.

Overall, I enjoyed the track and I'll give it a 5/5.

Keep it up!

neoblent2 responds:

Yeah we noticed it as well. We are planning to go in and get all five tracks we have up on newgrounds re=mixed and re-mastered. So look forward to hearing that soon. I appreciate your critiques and will definitely keep them in mind when doing all the mixing. Thanks a lot! Check some of our other stuff out too!

Punk-O-matic-lol! ;D

Just kidding man. Truly punk as it is. Personally I think that the drums could have been a bit more present in the mix. The rhythm guitars are kind of too overpowering...and the bass...Ah, finally can hear it in the "special part". Other than that, it kinda drowns. Suggestion. Lower the rhythm layers so that everything is audible. As for the pulp fiction quote...doesn't fit at all in there but w/e.

Overall, sweet and fast punk song. 5up! Stupid clone! ;P

Evil-Dog responds:

I agree about the mix. But I don't agree about the quote, fits perfectly haha

Sucks! >:(

Lulz, jk sonofcock. It's some good stuff. The intro could be a bit shorter but that's not a big problem. The hole track get's more funny than scary because of the mario theme. ;D As for the church organ, why didn't you eq'd/compressed it out? Lazy SoC! >:(

Overall, I think of a big messy graveyard when hearing this. Certainly has a cool vibe for that. Hm...I wonder what dis green button does! >:U

Sonofkirk responds:

Sonofcock rocks :P. Yeah I'm a lazy bastard, I know that. Glad you liked the mario stuff. And thanks for the review :D

Oh damn. : (

With real guitars, this would go places. Real mean structure there and great for headbanging action. Nice for sure none the less.

Vocals are good as well but a couple of pointers there. Put some decent compression on them and a bit of reverb. That way they will gain a much brighter spectrum.

Drums could be a little more present in the mix as well. Mainly the hole set is too pushed back in the mix. Other than that. BITCHHAMMER! >:(

Schleif responds:

haha, thanks man, glad you like. yeah, i'm still working on the guitar-issue. gonna get myself some real recording-equipment. and practice my playing. alot. haha. i'll keep the things you said in mind, thanks for the review man! you rule \m/

Lmao! :D

Ahaha, Symphony X. lmao lmao. I had ideas of covering that one as well. But I'm too many other projects at the moment to get something done in that resort. The Intro is boob on. Can't find anything wrong with it, cept what you've pointed out yourself already. ;)

Other than that. Nice! :D

0'd! lmao

Sonofkirk responds:

Cheers for the review bro :D. Nice to see that you enjoyed it. And thanks for the 0 :P

Swell, swell! :D

Damn, that's some mean shit right thar. The bass sounds evil as fook in there! A bit too present in the mix for my personal taste but not bad at all. Gives the track something else. Personally thought this was longer though, the end really gives more room for a kick ass part aftewards.

Drumwise, cool, cept for the snare...more pinchyness thar! >:(

Oh, it's only a jam session...Nevermind then. ^_^

5up you fuck! :D

\m/

Devastus responds:

But I like present-in-mix bass >:((( I agree with you with the snare though, I mostly like the texture but it needs a lil bit pinchyness there.

Thank you for supporting my annual needs of five :P

LolzE!

Dear Casualty, you suck at everything! ;)

Yeah, I'm kinda with sonofcock ;D on the drum thing. You two are dinos for still using beatcraft...buuut, it's funny to hear it yet again and again. In my opinion you could have sharpen the guitar tone a bit more but that's always a matter of taste. Overall, it was pretty cool. Nice riffs there buddy. <3

5 in yo faic! >:U

Casualty responds:

You know, you are right. I should try work on the fucking guitar tone for ONCE. It would be easy as fuck because I have a stealthplug now, but it just seems I can't spend more than half a day on a song. Even though this one took barely two hours lol.

Also if you have better drum machines I'd like to hear some suggestions. =]

ANYWAY thanks for the review I love you.

...Music is the way to show your deepest feelings... Not everyone likes metal... FUCK THEM!! kekeke! ^_ ^
